On the Occasion of a Presidential Address
March 1, 2017
If my twelve year old child has been poorly behaved over the past months, pitching tantrums, lying incessantly, demeaning people, being a bully, and then one night he attends a gathering and behaves in a manner that he should everyday anyway, I don't herald him as if he's suddenly great. I simply remind him that this is the kind of improvement we expect and we expect it to be the consistent pattern of life. So, good job and let's keep it up. And, by the way, let's work on leaving behind the selfishness, the misrepresentations (ie, lies dressed up in nicer clothing), etc.
